Short version
Microphone, camera and speaker tests run entirely in your browser. Recordings, pictures and test results are never uploaded or stored on our servers. There is no tracking and no analytics.
Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, Dublin, Ireland). When you visit, the hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address, date, time, requested page, referrer, browser and operating system in server logs to deliver and secure the site. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a secure and stable service). Microsoft acts as our processor under Art. 28 GDPR. The data is not combined with other data and not used to identify you. If you start the quick connection check on the network guide, your browser sends a few tiny requests to this website only to measure the response time; nothing else is sent.
Storage in your browser
We store your choice of Windows or Mac and whether you dismissed the language suggestion in your browser (local storage) so you do not have to repeat it. This data never leaves your device and you can delete it in your browser settings. We do not set cookies unless advertising is enabled (see below).
Camera and microphone
Your browser asks for permission before the tests can use your camera or microphone. A device is only used while a test is running and is released again as soon as it ends, if you leave the page or if you switch to another tab, so it stays available for Teams and other apps. Recordings stay in your browser’s memory and are discarded when you close or reload the page.
Fonts and external resources
FixMyMeeting uses the fonts installed on your device and loads no fonts, scripts or images from third parties. Links to other websites, such as Microsoft documentation, only open when you click them.
Contact by email
If you write to us, we process your email address, your message and the data you include to answer you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. We delete the data once your request is dealt with, unless legal retention duties apply.
Advertising
If advertising is enabled, Google may place cookies and process data to show ads. Where required by law you are asked for consent first and can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings”. Ads are never shown inside the troubleshooter or device checks.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing of your personal data, to data portability and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can withdraw a consent at any time with effect for the future. Contact us using the details above.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is: Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg (LfDI BW), Heilbronner Straße 35, 70191 Stuttgart, Germany, https://www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de. You can also contact the authority in your own country of residence.
No automated decisions
There is no automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
Changes
We update this policy when the website or the legal situation changes. Translations are provided for convenience; the German version is legally binding.
